Gloucestershire Airport has filed proposals for a major new business park expected to provide space for almost 2,000 workers. The new business park is expected to create space for approximately 1,750 new jobs by developing a site between the existing Anson and Meteor business parks. The new park will sit on land to the north of the Gloucestershire Airport site and replace the northern end of the north/south runway. New offices and industrial units will comprise the bulk of the approximately 370,000 sq ft development at the Staverton site, which lies in an area of strategic economic growth. The rest of the site will be landscaped. The proposals are supported by GFirst LEP, which has confirmed it will provide £1.8m in Growth Deal funding to support the infrastructure required to complete the new development. Tewkesbury Borough Council has recommended that the site is allocated for growth in its Local Plan, which is at an advanced stage and awaits approval from the secretary of state.
