Plans submitted for new Thorpe Park office building
Plans have been lodged for a new office building at Thorpe Park Leeds that would provide more than 150,000 sq ft of space.Thorpe Park Developments Ltd, supported by Zerum and Carey Jones Chapman Tolcher, has submitted a reserved matters application to Leeds City Council for for plot B3 at the development.Planning consent is sought for a seven-storey building comprising about 170,000 sq ft of office space. A double-height atrium and reception area, roof terrace and landscaped courtyard would also be created.The plans also include a two-storey landscaped podium containing parking, plant and ancillary facilities.The new building, and the associated landscaped courtyard, are designed to create an anchor point at the centre of the masterplan.Thorpe Park Leeds is an established business location with 800,000 sq ft of development built and occupied to date, including 600,000 sq ft of offices. It is being developed by Scarborough International Properties.A £162m investment deal with Legal & General Capital in 2015 secured a transformational 1.35 million sq ft mixed-use expansion, bringing forward exceptional new business opportunities to the Leeds City Region.Phase two includes the 350,000 sq ft retail and leisure park as well as a further 900,000 sq ft of office accommodation, 300 new residential homes by Redrow and a 113-acre public park with sports facilities.Earlier this year, planning permission was granted for a six-storey, 62,000 sq ft office building on plot B7.
