Approval nears for Tranmere Rovers training ground plans
Tranmere Rovers’ plans to improve their training facility with the installation of a 3G pitch look set to move forward despite coming up against a petition.The club use the Solar Campus alongside the Liverpool FC Women’s team.It is also used by a number of local sports teams and schools, as well as the wider community.Proposed is a partial excavation and installation of the pitch, as well as floodlighting and a footpath between the ground and the campus buildings.A report drawn up ahead of Wirral Council’s planning committee meeting on 8 September noted that five letters of objection had been made, while a 36-signature petition has also been received.The main concerns revolve around impact on amenity and traffic.Despite this, approval looks set to be granted.
