Contractor sought for St Georges Hall
Plans to appoint a contractor to works on St Georges Hall in Liverpool look set to move forward.Due to the Covid-19 pandemic and a temporary lull in event activity, an opportunity exists to improve the historic venue.A report to Liverpool City Council’s Cabinet – which will meet on 11 September – noted that works are needed across a host of elements, including the roof, ceiling and plateauApproval is now being sought for the authority’s assistant director of culture and tourism to undertake a procurement process to engage a contractor to carry out repair works.It is also proposed that £144,000 be drawn down from the remaining £1.9m uncommitted budget included the 2021/22 capital programme for City Halls improvements.
