New housing scheme on-track for completion
A project by energy and regeneration specialist ENGIE to construct almost 40 new homes on the site of a former school in Newcastle is on-track for completion.ENGIE are working in partnership with Places for People to provide 36, two, three and four-bedroom family homes which are being built on the site of the former Wharrier Street Primary School in Walker.Despite a small delay due to coronavirus restrictions, the project is scheduled to be completed in the opening months of 2021, with the majority of homes already constructed – and a number now undergoing internal works.This development follows ENGIE’s completion of the adjoining Chalfont Road development, which provided 40 new homes for affordable rent.
