Council to bring forward housing development

A housing scheme earmarked for Yew Tree – which will be Liverpool City Council’s first in 30 years – has been backed.The authority’s cabinet has approved a report recommending the building of 74 council properties in the area.Subject to a grant from Homes England and the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority, the £9m scheme will be the first since the council revamped its housing team in the summer.The Denford Road project forms part of a wider plan to build and retrofit thousands of properties by 2030.It will be brought forward in partnership with Riverside Housing Association.Liverpool City Council will now enter in to a contract with Lovell Partnerships.
