Planning permission has been granted for an eight-storey mixed use building featuring apartments and commercial units on a site in Sheffield.George Marshall (Power Tools) Ltd, supported by DPP Planning and Self Architects, submitted an application to Sheffield City Council earlier this year for the redevelopment of its site on Johnson Street, between The Wicker and Nursery Street. The proposal covers the demolition of the existing buildings and construction of an eight-storey, mixed-use development. The new building will comprise two commercial units on the ground floor, suitable for a range of uses, with 56 studio, one- and two-bedroom apartments on the upper levels. The council has now granted planning permission for the development, subject to conditions, under delegated powers.
