Plans for a residential development on the site of a former nursery in Exeter are set to move forward after they were recommended for approval.Heritage Developments (South West) is seeking permission to Demolish the existing buildings on land at Broom Park Nurseries. The application site comprises the buildings and land comprising the former Broom Park Nurseries, the property ‘Five Acres’ and its curtilage, and also the access road serving the golf driving range that sits to the north of the site. It is bounded by the university sports grounds, Exeter Road and a proposed residential development.Originally the proposal included 64 homes, including affordable housing, alongside open space, landscaping, and parking. Through negotiations to secure more acceptable open space provision, the scheme has been revised to 61 dwellings.According to Exeter City Council planning officers, who have recommended approval, the development is considered acceptable in terms of its design, amenity and transportation impacts, and sustainable in terms of its location.
