Plans in for major solar energy park
Plans have been submitted to create a major solar energy park in Leicestershire.A 183.5-acre site at Green Farm to the north of the former Grantham Canal has been set aside for the proposed scheme.Applicant Green Farm Solar, which is registered in London, is behind the plans which have been submitted to Melton Borough Council.The ground mounted solar panels would have a net installed generating capacity of up to 49.9MW and would be in place for 40 years.A final decision is expected to be made by the authority in the coming months.
