Pipeline Framework: Therapeutic Support for Children Looked After (CLA)

A pipeline has been launched for Therapeutic Support for Children Looked After (CLA).The contract start Date is 31 January 2021. Approach to market date is 1 June 2023.The overall purpose of the Service is to provide a team of mental health professionals with at least one clinical psychologist and clinically recognised qualifications (e.g. psychologist) and demonstrable experience of supporting CLA, who will receive referrals, assess the emotional wellbeing needs of individual CLA and develop and monitor individual tailored therapeutic programmes. The focus of the team will be working with key professionals (mainly social workers, foster carers, and residential workers) to deliver therapeutic programmes, not directly, but through these key professionals. Some direct therapeutic work with children and young people will also be required, and this will be of such a volume that staff will retain their professional registration.This is a potential opportunity from the government, and the pipeline gives advance notice of an opportunity that might be offered by the public sector in the future – allowing potential suppliers to plan accordingly.
