But here at awarding authority we wanted to be able to harness the amazing community spirit that has been so evident in specified location for the future too – #communitiesCanThe amount of people coming forward to volunteer and sign up to be part of the Community Care Volunteering project has been tremendous, so back in September we applied, and were successful in a bid to The National Lottery Communities Fund.The project has a number of strands including 7 pilot projects that are being led by the lead hubs in 7 different wards. Another offer that we are also able to roll out is free training for Volunteers and volunteer managers. Courses run up until March 2021 and are either a full day or half day (with plenty of comfort breaks!).They are booking up fast and a few are already full, but if you are actively volunteering in Leeds or are managing volunteers (or want to), then this may interest you.The sessions cover different practical aspects of your volunteering or volunteer management experience.
