Stirling Council has outlined ambitious plans to deliver affordable homes across the constituency. The strategic housing investment plan (SHIP) 2021/22 to 2025/26 sets out the local authority’s approach to invest in and deliver affordable housing throughout Stirling over the next five years. The council said the initiative has the potential to deliver more than 1,400 homes – the majority of which would be provided by the local authority, Forth Housing Association and Rural Stirling Housing Association. Many of the developments are already under construction, such as new homes being built in Dunblane, Bannockburn, Raploch and Callander. The council said the delivery of the SHIP will support its aims to increase economic activity in the constituency, create jobs and training opportunities in the construction sector, reduce fuel poverty and help support regeneration activity in Raploch and Cornton.
