Plans for office building at former mill

A planning application has been submitted for the development of an office building on the site of a former paper mill in Leeds.Plans have been submitted to Leeds City Council for land at Mill Lane in Otley forming part of the the former Garnetts Paper Mill.The site has been vacant for a number of years following the completion of the wider Garnetts Paper Mill development, brought forward by Barratt David Wilson Homes.Planning permission is sought for the development of a three-storey office building with a gross internal area of about 7,500 sq ft.Car parking and areas of landscaping will be created, while cycle parking and an external bin store are also included in the plans.A planning statement prepared by Zerum in support of the application said: “The proposed use of the building as offices will have additional benefits for the local community by providing an additional offer in a sustainable location.”Planning permission was previously approved in 2018 for a commercial unit and appartments on the site but has not been brought forward.
