Work starts on North East TV and film studio
Work has started to create a large-scale film and TV studio in the North East, with doors set to open in six months.The £3.76m project at the The Northern School of Art’s Hartlepool campus will create a 30,000 sq ft facility known as The Northern Studios.It will be used commercially alongside a new teaching building to support specialist technical and skills training for undergraduates.The studios will be open for summer 2021 and will repurpose the town’s former bus maintenance sheds. The Northern Studios is a collaborative project funded by the Tees Valley Mayor and Combined Authority, including £1m of Local Growth Funding from the government.
