Developers offer road and transport boost

Developers behind a 253-home scheme in Ponteland are contributing £700,000 towards the improvement of local roads and transport as part of a section 106 agreement.Jameson Manor is a joint development by Bellway and Ashberry Homes on the site of the former headquarters of Northumbria Police, off North Road.As part of the planning agreement, the companies will contribute towards highways infrastructure, traffic management and public transport.The site was purchased by the developers in 2018 for £21m, the proceeds of which are being re-invested back into policing across the county. Construction work has been underway since 2019.
