Green light for Summix mixed-use scheme
Summix Capital’s plans for a new mixed-use scheme in the heart of Bath have been granted planning approval by the Planning Inspectorate.More than 18,000 sq ft of new employment space will be created on the site of the former Plumb Center site on Locksbrook Road alongside 52 student studios and 28 student en-suite rooms in cluster flats opposite Bath Spa University’s new Art and Design Campus.The plans for the site will include a new and upgraded facility on the ground floor for the Genesis Lifestyle Centre which will help to secure the future of the family-run health and fitness business.The Planning Inspector decided to allow the appeal following the refusal of the original application by members of Bath and North East Somerset Council in August 2019.
