Infrastructure works start on £35m Hollinwood Junction scheme

Infrastructure works have begun at the £35m Hollinwood Junction regeneration project in Oldham.Contractor I&H Brown will bring forward a £2m package of works to unlock the site previously blighted by a large redundant gas holder.The infrastructure scheme, comprising two new roundabouts, site entrance road, drainage and associated works, will allow the construction of a new drive-thru Costa Coffee to commence.A planning application has been submitted and if approved, work will start in the late spring ahead of completion in the autumn.Hollinwood Junction, a partnership between Oldham Council and Langtree, is expected to create a total of 760 jobs and incorporate retail, leisure and employment space, as well as up to 150 homes.
