Historic Newcastle site on the market
A building which has been standing in Newcastle for more than 300 years has been placed on the market.The Keelmen’s Hospital on City Road, Sandgate, is being offered for sale with the adjacent Men’s Palace.Newcastle City Council would like the structures – owned by the Salvation Army – to be purchased together and has raised the option of linking the two buildings subject to planning permission.Possible uses include a hotel, residential home, housing or space community use.Sanderson Weatherall is handling the sale.
