Extra funding lined up for Paddington Village

The Paddingtion Village project is set to secure a further funding boost as the project gathers pace.Despite the challenges faced by the Covid-19 pandemic, progress has continued with several schemes under construction.The completion of the Spine in December 2020 was a “significant milestone,” prior to its occupation in April 2021.A report approved by Liverpool City Council’s Cabinet on 18 December 2020 recommended that delegated authority be granted to accept a Brownfield Land Fund (BLF) grant through the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority (LCRCA) to bring forward the next package of infrastructure and public realm works at Paddington Village.Now, authority is being sought for the grant amount to increase from £3.6m to £4.3m.Also proposed is changing the procurement route to deliver the works from the Northwest Construction Framework to the PAGABO Framework.A report making the recommendations has been drawn up for the council’s Cabinet, which will meet on 19 March.
