Go-ahead recommended for Lincolnshire solar farm

The go-ahead has been tipped for a proposed solar farm in Lincolnshire expected to power thousands of homes.Anesco Ltd is seeking planning approval from East Lindsay District Council to build a 49.9MW solar farm on land at Low Farm in Wainfleet St Mary.The scheme includes the installation of solar panels with transformers, a 132KV substation, a DNO control room, a customer substation, GRP communications cabin, security fencing, landscaping and other associated infrastructure.It is anticipated the farm would power approximately 13,500 homes and would result in an approximate saving of 12,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions per annum.The solar farm would be for a temporary period of 40 years, after which the site would be returned to its current condition. It is anticipated that the construction period will take approximately 24 to 32 weeks.The application site measures approximately 182.1 acres five agricultural fields, which are currently in arable use.
