Sustainability to the fore at EQ development

The 200,000 sq ft EQ development being brought forward in Bristol by CEG is set to achieve landmark sustainability credentials. Due for completion in February 2023, the glass building at 111 Victoria Street is the largest speculative office development currently underway in the south of England. Once complete, it will become home to more than 2,000 workers.The building is set to secure Carbon Net Zero in Operation credentials in accordance UK Green Building Council’s framework approach.Sustainability has been at the heart of the design for EQ with initiatives including, among other features, an all electric building with 100 per cent green electric; on-site renewable energy provision through photovoltaic units on the roof; connection to Bristol City Council’s District Heating Network; and rainwater recycling.The building will also provide 20,000 sq ft of occupier amenities such as a rooftop bar, restaurant and business lounge with communal terrace, ground floor café kitchen, 50 seat auditorium, as well as a fitness suite and break out space. It will offer floor plates of 27,377 sq ft.
