Plans in for Blackpool battery facility
Plans to develop a 25MW battery energy storage facility in Blackpool have been revealed.Henco International is behind the application, which concerns a plot on Bristol Avenue.Proposed is a development whose primary function would be to provide standby electricity storage capacity into the local distributive network at peak times.This would be in a bid to avoid fluctuations and blackouts, and also to aid in avoiding transmission losses when electricity is transmitted over long distances.The area covered by the facility would be 16,145 sq ft.
