Approval for Northampton industrial scheme
Proposals for a major development within an existing Northampton industrial estate have been approved.Newlands Developments sought outline planning permission from West Northamptonshire Council to demolish the existing Howdens building on Liliput Road at Brackmills Industrial Estate to provide new employment uses.Howdens Joinery Group is moving its operations elsewhere in the county in early 2021, a process which is now underway, and the site will become vacant.An indicative layout of the proposed scheme comprises of three units totalling 809,030 sq ft on an approximately 42.5-acre site.Unit A will be 227,930 sq ft, unit B will be 446,100 sq ft and unit C will be 135,000 sq ft.Associated infrastructure works, yard and parking areas are also provided.The scheme has now been approved, subject to conditions.
