Go-ahead for mixed-use Coventry scheme
The go-ahead has been secured for a scheme aiming to provide residential and commercial uses at a site in Coventry.Far Gosford Developments Ltd sought planning approval to construct a five-storey building on land to the north of Well Street and the west of Bishops Street.The east of the site comprises landscaping installed by Coventry City Council, while the rest of the site is vacant and is surrounded by hoardings.At ground floor level, five commercial units are proposed, along with HV substation rooms and cycle store with 40 spaces.The upper floors will provide 40 residential units in a mixture of one and two-bedroom apartments.A courtyard to the rear of the site would accommodate on-site parking for 17 vehicles.The scheme has now been approved, subject to conditions.
