Go-ahead tipped for Central Market project

Proposals for the regeneration of the Lincoln Central Market building have been recommended for approval ahead of a planning committee meeting next week.City of Lincoln Council has brought forward plans to restore the grade II-listed building, which would create a new “updated, vibrant, distinct and diversified market offer”, combining retail, food, leisure and technology.Designed by John Roberts Architects Ltd, the proposals include 14 perimeter market stalls, 22 freestanding centrally located market stalls, a dedicated butcher/fishmonger sales area, a centrally located food court, four perimeter market stalls at mezzanine level and additional café/restaurant seating.A restaurant/bar with a dedicated entrance off Sincil Street left bare for tenant fit-out is also provide on the ground floor of a new extension.The plans will be reviewed by the council’s planning committee on 30 June.
