Green light for major Plymouth housing scheme
Plans for a major housing-led development on a brownfield site in Plymouth have secured planning approval.Homes England has been granted permission for the redevelopment of Coypool Park in Plymouth after the application received the unanimous support of Plymouth City Council’s planning committee.The development is on the site of a former china clay drying complex which has an industrial legacy stretching back 100 years. Consent to demolish the majority of the derelict industrial buildings was granted in March 2019.Now approval has been secured for 550 new homes, a community hub and about 40 acres of public open space and woodland.LDA Design and CampbellReith supported Homes England through the planning process.The previously stalled site was acquired by Homes England in 2018.
