RWO appointed to project at former coal mine
The Leeds office of civil and structural engineering specialist RWO has won a contract to support the development of a multimillion-pound industrial centre on the site of a former North Yorkshire coal mine.The company will provide engineering design services for new infrastructure at the 141-acre Konect rail-connected manufacturing and logistics hub, currently under construction at the former Kellingley Colliery.RWO has partnered with Wakefield-based Peter Duffy Ltd to design the proposed site access and junction improvements. It is also developing plans for a new internal site access road, which will include drainage as well as offsite works to improve the control and storage of surface water.The wider 151-acre Kellingley Colliery site is currently being transformed by Harworth Group.
