Green light for housing project on industrial site
A proposed affordable housing project on a former industrial site in Lye has been approved.Owl Homes brought forward plans to demolish existing industrial units at the former Jubillee Works and the William Foxall premises on Balds lane to make way for the construction of 89 residential properties.Measuring approximately 3.7 acres, the application site ontains a number of industrial/commercial buildings which are currently vacant.The scheme comprises 11 four-bed, 16 three-bed and eight two-bed houses.There will also be four apartment blocks consisting of 18 one-bed and 36 two-bed properties.The project has now been approved, subject to conditions.
