More than 100 homes set for approval

The proposed construction of more than 100 homes on agricultural land in Nottinghamshire has been recommended for approval.Countryside Properties is seeking the go-ahead from Ashfield District Council to build 110 properties on land rear of 211 Alfreton Road in Sutton in Ashfield.The application site currently comprises open agricultural fields, with mature hedgerow boundaries.The scheme comprises 21 two-bed, 76 three-bed and 13 four-bed houses, with the demolition of 211 Alfreton Road, the garage of 213 Alfreton road and garages to the rear of 209 Alfreton Road also included in the plans.Plans will be reviewed by the council’s planning committee on 21 July.A report for the committee said: The social benefits through the creation of new housing carries significant weight.
