Sovini lodges homes plans
Bootle housing group Sovini has lodged plans to build more than 100 homes at the site of a vacant former Johnsons Cleaners building.The company wants to demolish the building and erect 123 houses on land off Stanley Road in Bootle.Johnsons Dyers and Cleaners company relocated to Prescot in 2007, leaving the site vacant.The building has been closed and boarded up since then and in an extensive state of disrepair for many years, with the scheme aiming to breathe new life to the site.Previously, the abandoned building had occupied most of the land and it is a significant presence in the area at around 19m high.The development includes 38 one-bed apartments, 39 two-bed apartments, 28 two-bed houses and 18 three-bed homes. All the properties will have associated access, landscaping, services and parking.
