300-place primary school bid for Wrexham

Plans to build a primary school in Wrexham, which would have a capacity for more than 300 students, have been revealed.The proposals are earmarked for land off Chester Road in Wrexham, with the county council submitting a planning application.The new school would also include a forest school area, open space for public use, a playground, sports pitches and car and coach parking.Of the 315 school places that would be provided, 45 would be for nursery to meet the demand locally.At present, the area of land is fenced off and is inaccessible to the public. The site was previously used as sports pitches however, these were private and are not recognised as formal open space. They have been disused since 2005.The site is currently used as private sports pitches and has been leased out to Wrexham Football Club as their training facility.
