Plans in pipeline for Newcastle office transformation
Plans are in the pipeline to transform office space in Newcastle’s cloth market into residential accommodation, newly filed documents have revealed.Project Nicholas Ltd is behind the proposals for 2 Cathedral Square and has lodged a notification of prior approval with the city council.The project would transform office space on the ground, first, second, third and fourth floors of the building to provide 47 apartments.The homes would be a mix of one and two-bed units.The scheme would exclude the space at 2 Cathedral Square which is occupied by Revolución de Cuba as well as any parts of the ground floor currently in commercial use.Documents filed by youngsRPS said the applicant “is committed to making a high quality residential conversion of the building which it recently secured as a long-term investment”.
