Proposals to extend a church in Salford have been given the green light by planners.Designed by Preston-based David Cox Architects, the new five-storey link building adjoining the existing !Audacious Church on Trinity Way, will allow for increased capacity at the venue. It will also create a true landmark on a scale which likened to a modern-day cathedral.Councillors approved the plan, subject to the approval of materials under delegated powers, at a Salford City Council planning committee meeting this week. !Audacious Church has grown steadily and rapidly since its inception 13 years ago. Currently meeting across four separate locations and hosting eight services every weekend, more than 5,000 people across the region embrace !Audacious as their church. This 38,000 sq ft expansion development stemmed from a need for a larger space to accommodate the growth of its community and will provide the infrastructure to support local families, healthcare, education and also neighbouring businesses. The planning consultant was Euan Kellie Property Solutions, and Clancy Consulting provided civil and structural engineering services. LeClardo acted as mechanical and electrical engineering consultant, project management services was provided by Spring and Co. and Urban Green were landscape architect and ecology and arboriculture consultant.
