Housing plans for former school approved
Housing plans for the site of a former primary school in Shropshire have been approved.Cornovii Developments, a private company wholly owned by Shropshire Council, sought the go-ahead to build 35 properties on the site of the former Ifton Heath Primary School on Overton Road, St Martins.The site closed in 2012 when the school moved to the Rhyn Park Secondary School to provide an all-through facility known as St Martins Academy.The houses consist of a mix of one, two, three and four-bed properties, of which three are bungalows.The former school building would be replaced with three pairs of semi-detached properties occupying a similar position facing Overton Road, with parking to the rear and some soft landscaping.Despite this, the project has been recommended for approval, subject to conditions.
