A mixed-use employment development which has the potential to create almost 2,000 jobs in Lincolnshire has been recommended for approval ahead of a planning committee meeting next week.Carta Real Estate is seeking outline approval from South Kesteven District Council to build up to 868,543 sq ft of general industrial and storage and distribution space at Spittalgate Level in Spittalgate, Grantham.Measuring approximately 65 acres, the site is comprised of two agricultural fields. The applicant has submitted a masterplan showing three buildings. Of the three buildings shown, one is sited to the north west and is intended to extend to 200,000 sq ft.A second building would be located immediately south of the existing Spittlegate Level industrial estate and would provide 204,543 sq ft of floorspace, while a third building would total 464,000 sq ft.The buildings are indicatively shown with no more than 30,000 sq ft of ancillary office space, with all three to be predominantly used as warehousing. The level of car, HGV and cycle parking will be agreed with Lincolnshire County Council at the reserved matters stage. It is anticipated that the development will have the potential to create approximately 1,727 FTE jobs.
