Studio B.A.D submits plans for homes on Southampton pub site

Studio B.A.D is seeking planning permission for 15 homes on the site of a vacant pub in north-west SouthamptonThe £2.5 million redevelopment for Darcy Construction would replace the rundown two-storey Bridge Tavern on Coxford Road in the Mayfield neighbourhood.The scheme, submitted to Southampton City Council, comprises two blocks housing eight two-bedroom and seven one-bedroom apartments. The highest element would be four storeys tall. The homes would be dual-aspect, with individual balconies, and arranged around a central courtyard. They are planned as a mix of private sale and rent. ADVERTISEMENTThe red brick blocks will have a traditional slate roof but also contemporary touches, including timber cladding and a sedum roof. According to the Southampton-based practice, the ‘proposal seeks to be very modest and subservient in scale, and sympathetic in its architectural form and overall aesthetic’.
