Approval for Cardiff housing scheme
Detailed plans for a new housing scheme in St Mellons, Cardiff, have been given the green light by the city council.The development of land at Willowbrook Drive and Crickhowell Road – which is in an existing residentail neighbourhood – is being brought forward as part of a joint application between Wates Residential and Cardiff Council.The scheme secured outline consent in 2016.Under the plans the site would be transformed to provide 70 new homes. Twenty two units are proposed for social rent, representing 31 per cent of the total.The dwellings comprise a mix of flats, bungalows and two-, three- and four-bed houses.Reserved matters were approved by Cardiff planners subject to a number of conditions.
