More than 600 homes in Lancashire given go-ahead

The green light has been given to two Lancashire schemes which propose to build more than 600 homes.One is a 274-houses development brought forward by Wainhomes (North West) for land off Lambs Road And Raikes Road, Thornton Cleveleys.The second development is for outline plans by Metacre for up to 350 homes on land south of the A586 and north west Of Copp Lane in Great Eccleston.In Thornton Cleveleys, Wainhomes submitted a full planning application for phase two of the project, which would involve the erection of 80 homes with vehicular access from Lambs and to land to the east. Pedestrian access to land to the south and associated works to include landscaping and green infrastructure are also included. Then Wainhomes also lodged an outline application for phase 3a) and 3b to build up to 194 houses, a one-form entry primary school and a convenience retail store. Phase one already has permission. While for the Great Eccleston scheme, one hectare of employment land, a medical centre, school, village hall and convenience store, are also planned along with the houses.Both applications were approved at a meeting of Wyre Council’s planning committee.
