Green light for Templecombe housing development
Tilia Homes Western has been given the green light for a development of 70 new homes in the village of Templecombe.Located off the A357 on the northern edge of the village, the development will incorporate three, four and five-bedroom homes, with 35 per cent of the properties allocated as affordable housing for affordable rent and shared equity tenures in a mix of one and two bedroom apartments, and two and three bedroom houses. The greenfield site, which is currently split into two fields, will be accessed via a new road off the A357 which will act as a central estate road throughout the development, and will feature a tree-lined border to the rear with areas of green space and a large pond. The scheme will also include an extension to the Abbas and Templecombe CE Primary School playing field, as well as a play area and youth shelter. The development joins Tilia Homes’ Bunford Heights development in Yeovil and Snowdon Grange in Chard among the housebuilder’s current property portfolio.
