Boots to create a community next to Nottingham headquarters

Pharmacy giant Boots plans to create a community next to its Nottingham headquarters focused on wellbeing, said a senior director.The retailer has selected North Yorkshire-based modular housing company ilke Homes to deliver 622 homes at the site, making it the UK’s largest low-rise modular housing scheme.The development will be part of the wider 286-acre Nottingham Enterprise Zone in the Beeston area of Nottingham. It also includes the MediCity innovation hub and the multinational medical products manufacturer Reckitt has its largest UK manufacturing facility at the site.It is hoped work on the housing scheme can begin next summer.Chivers is one of the speakers at The Nottingham: Creating a Sustainable City online forum, which takes place from 10am on Tuesday 14 September. It will look at how the city’s aim to become the UK’s first – and Europe’s second – carbon neutral city by 2028 can attract major investment.
