Business centre redevelopment at West Yorkshire mill recommended

Plans to redevelop a business centre at a West Yorkshire location to provide more than 120,000 sq ft of commercial space look set to get the green light later this week (23 September 2021).Firloch Ltd, supported by Savills, submitted plans to Bradford Council earlier this year for the redevelopment of the Aire Valley Business Centre, located off Lawkholme Lane in Keighley.The 7.06-acre site comprises a series of warehouse and office units, with planning permission granted for the majority of these buildings in 2019.Subject to planning approval, a total of 34 new units would be created, ranging from 1,400 sq ft to 9,000 sq ft and measuring 80,000 sq ft in total.Together with the existing Airedale Mill building, which will be retained under the proposals, a total of 120,908 sqft of employment space would be provided.The proposal includes 285 car parking spaces.It has been estimated that the new units would have the potential to accommodate more than 250 jobs.The application will be considered by the council’s Regulatory and Appeals Committee on 23 September and is recommended for approval, subject to conditions, in an officer’s report prepared for the meeting.
