The Cabinet of Ministers wants laboratory equipment for the early diagnosis of orphan diseases.
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine have allocated UAH 300 million (more than £8 million) to buy laboratory equipment, for the early diagnosis of more than 20 orphan diseases.
The equipment is wanted for expert and regional neonatal screening centres.
It is planning to equip the centres with a laboratory information system and computerised workstation for its employees.
This will reduce the level of mortality and disability due to the early detection of diseases.
