Green light nears for SEND campus
Plans to bring forward a 350-place special educational needs and disability (SEND) school in Wiltshire could soon advance.The proposals concern the existing Silverwood School in Devizes – a county co-educational special school for students with complex learning needs.It currently has about 180 such pupils on its role, with some accommodated in temporary mobile classrooms.Lined up is developing the existing school into a SEND campus for 350 students including the construction of a two-storey education building containing a hydrotherapy pool, classrooms and main hall.Some buildings would also be re-purposed, while an all-weather sports pitch and playing fields would be brought forward.
