Green light for regeneration scheme
Planning permission has been secured for the job-creating regeneration of a major brownfield site in Ellesmere Port.Commercial real estate investor and developer Firethorn acquired the 42.5-acre location from Peel Ports Group in November 2020. Planning approval has now been granted for Link Logistics Park, which will provide up to 700,000 sq ft of modern logistics accommodation, creating approximately 800 jobs for the region.As groundworks at the speculative scheme near completion, construction is due to commence on site in January 2022, with completion expected by the fourth quarter of 2022.Immediately adjacent to Junction 7 of the M53 and within a 45-minute drive of Liverpool and Manchester airports, the multi-modal site is also in close proximity to the Manchester shipping canal, which is situated just 22 miles from the Port of Liverpool.Letting agents are CBRE, B8 Real Estate and Moriarty & Company.
