Green light set for major mixed-use scheme
Plans for a major mixed-use development of apartments and commercial floorspace with the potential to create more than 50 jobs look set to be backed.Sefton Council’s planning committee will consider proposals by Crossfield Exclusive for a development at Telegraph House, Moor Lane, Crosby. The applicant is seeking to build a part four/part five storey building for mixed use including a commercial floorspace at ground floor and 74 apartments on upper floors.Commercial floorspace would consist of retail units, offices and coffee shops and restaurants.It is anticipated by the applicant that the new commercial floorspace may deliver in the region of 42 to 52 full time jobs. Further jobs would be created through the construction process.The application site comprises a part two storey, part three storey building of 1960s construction at the junction of Moor Lane and Richmond Road.The building was in a mix of commercial uses and is now unoccupied, and the site also comprises derelict land to the back.Now planning officials have recommended plans for the site to be approved with conditions. Sefton’s planning committee meet today.
