Landmark mixed-use plans lodged for Coventry industrial site

An application has been submitted proposing the redevelopment of an industrial estate site in Coventry to make way for a landmark mixed-use scheme.Wigley Contracts has lodged outline plans build 480 residential units on land at Sandy Lane Industrial Estate.The site, to be known as Daimler Wharf, would comprise properties ranging from one-bedroom apartments to three-bedroom duplex family homes, provided in a series of buildings between four and 12 storeys.Additionally, there would be approximately 131,000 sq ft of commercial, service, live work and community space.In total, the development would provide 169 car parking spaces, split between commercial and residential.The creative arts and production floorspace contained within the recently refurbished Daimler Powerhouse also falls within the site boundary and represents the first phase of the site’s overall redevelopment.It is anticipated that the project will create 96 jobs upon completion.
