Huyton Village Centre plans taking shape
Ambitious plans for Huyton Village Centre are continuing to progress, council chiefs have said.Knowlsey Council is developing a ten-year development plan to transform the area, which includes a new commercial district, improvements to Derby Road and a new station gateway.Improvements such as the Shopfront Improvement Programme are already well underway and CCTV has also been installed in the village centre The council said the programme has helped to attract new businesses, jobs and investment, with the village centre now boasting a “thriving” food and drink offer and a “growing” evening economy.It said that people still want to see more improvement in the village, along with a broader retail offer, more things for families to do in their leisure time and a more diverse range of job opportunities.
