Residential scheme set for approval

Vacant buildings at a site in Liverpool are set to be demolished to make way for a scheme of almost 200 residential units.Torus 62 Ltd wants to demolish the buildings and erect three 6.5 storey blocks with two interlinked five-storey blocks comprising 195 residential units.Of the homes, 70 will be one-bed apartments, 93 two-bed apartments, 22 three-bed apartments and 10 townhouses. The ground floor would include undercroft parking, two commercial units, two 500kva substations, landscaping and new public realm and the conversion of the railway arches for commercial purposes. The application site covers 1.8 acres and is bounded by Lightbody Street to the north and Great Howard Street to the west.Now a recommendation has been made to approve the plans subject to a legal agreement ahead of a meeting of Liverpool City Council’s planning committee. Liverpool City Council’s planning committee will meet on Tuesday 9 November.
