4. Description: The Awarding Authority seeks competitive tenders for provision of self-drive vehicles. Currently the Council has ongoing requirements for the hire of a wide range of commercial van type vehicles across various Council Departments. The services provided by the successful tenderer(s) will need to be flexible to accommodate changing needs during the contract period. It is envisaged that the contract will initially be for a period of one year with an option reserved by the Council to extend the contract for a further 1 x 12 month periods subject to satisfactory performance. Due to the current pandemic, the Council are not setting out a minimum amount of vehicle hire, therefore the Council may need some, all or none of the vehicles listed. The vehicles Hire periods could be either short, medium or long term with the occasional requirement for spot-hire of vehicles in the event of unforeseeable breakdowns.
