Verto completes £8.6m loan to build new smart homes in Cornwall
OakNorth Bank has completed an £8.6m loan to housebuilder Verto to finance the development of two sustainable residential schemes in the south of Cornwall.The Falmouth site, consisting of 22 detached zero carbon smart homes and eight apartments, has views of the local links golf course and is located a short distance from Swanpool beach.The development in Mylor will have 18 zero carbon detached bungalows, including eight affordable units.Verto’s smart homes produce their own renewable energy through photovoltaic solar panels integrated into the roof.All of the homes are also equipped with triple-glazed argon-filled windows and super insulation which result in almost zero heat loss or noise pollution. The homes use zonal underfloor hearing and ground-source and air-source heat pumps which absorb heat from the ground or outside air and move it inside.
